Moto G5S Plus with Dual Camera, Moto G5S Launched with all Metal Body, Starting at ₹ 13,999

Lenovo owned Motorola on Tuesday has launched the Motorola Moto G5S Plus and Motorola Moto G5S in India at Rs 13,999 and Rs 15,999 respectively. Dubbed as ‘Special Editions’, both smartphones are updated versions of the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus which were announced at MWC 2017 back in February. The highlight of the two smartphones is the rear camera. While the Moto G5S Plus bears a rear dual camera setup (with two 13-megapixel sensors) the Moto G5S sports a single rear camera setup (with a 16-megapixel sensor). Both feature front flash modules.

The Moto G5S and G5S Plus come with bigger displays, an all metal design and improved cameras and carry the tagline – “More Metal. More Battery. Made for More.”

Both smartphones, called the ‘special edition of the Moto G5 series’, also sport fingerprint sensors on their home button, and bare metal unibody designs. The Moto G5S Plus and Moto G5S both come with water-repellent nano-coating, making them splash-proof. They both ship with TurboPower chargers as well, for fast charging.

Moto G5S Plus and Moto G5S Offers

The Moto G5S Plus price in India in India is Rs. 15,999. It will be available in Lunar Gray and Blush Gold color variants exclusively go on sale on Amazon India, starting tonight at 11.59 pm IST. Launch offers include extra Rs 1,000 off on exchanging an old Motorola smartphone for this, no cost EMI on all credit cards, Moto Sports headphones at Rs 499, 80 per cent off on Amazon Kindle app (up to Rs 300 maximum), and 50GB additional 4G data from Reliance Jio.  Meanwhile, Motorola has slashed the price of Moto G5 Plus 4GB RAM and 32 GB storage variant to Rs 14,999.

The Moto G5S price in India is Rs. 13,999. It will be available in Lunar Gray and Fine Gold color variants and will go on sale via Amazon, Moto Hub, leading large format retailers, and retailer partners from 11:59 pm IST on Tuesday itself.

Moto G5S Plus features dual-SIM (Nano) runs Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box, and it sports a 5.5-inch full-HD 1080×1920 pixels IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device is powered by a 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC with 650 MHz Adreno 506 GPU, coupled with 4GB of RAM. The Moto G5S Plus bears 64GB of inbuilt storage, expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB).

Moto G5S bears a dual rear camera setup with two 13-megapixel sensors with a f/2.0 aperture, depth editing software, and color correcting dual-LED flash. On the front, it bears an 8-megapixel sensor with a f/2.0 aperture, wide-angle lens, and an LED flash.

The dual rear cameras in the G5S Plus are capable of taking ‘bokeh’ style photos that keep the subject in focus while blurring the background. Motorola has introduced also introduced a new feature that lets users replace the background in photos with solid colors like white and black. The front camera is 8MP and with LED flash.

Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. The smartphone runs on a 3000mAh battery that with the TurboPower charger can in 15 minutes provide up to 6 hours of battery life. It weighs 168 grams and measures 153.5×76.2x8mm.
