Gionee on Tuesday has launched the Gionee A1 Plus flagship smartphone in India. Gionee A1 Plus, an improved version of the Gionee A1 smartphone, featuring the dual camera (13MP+5MP) setup at the rear with LED flash and 20MP front camera and a bigger 4550mAh battery. Gionee A1 Plus Priced at Rs 26,999, will be available across the country starting Wednesday, July 26.
Gionee A1 Plus was first announced by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer at MWC 2017, Gionee A1 Plus looks identical to the company’s A1 smartphone. Both smartphones have big batteries, metal unibody designs, and improved selfie cameras.

The Gionee is also touting the bundled 18W ‘ultrafast’ charger that can charge the battery fully in just 2 hours. A highlight of the Gionee A1 Plus over its smaller sibling is the use of dual rear cameras. The company in India is also bundling a 2-year extended warranty with the A1 Plus.

The Gionee A1 Plus variant brought to India is the 4GB RAM/ 64GB inbuilt storage variant. It will be made available in Mocha Gold and Black colour variants. Launch offers include a Jio additional data offer – Gionee A1 Plus buyers who activate the smartphone on the Reliance Jio network with a recharge of Rs. 309 or above will get 60GB additional 4G data from Jio. Buyers will also get a Paytm gift voucher worth Rs. 500.

As Price comparison with Gionee A1, Gionee A1 Plus is significantly more expensive, it is much better endowed as well. Gionee A1 Plus specifications include dual-SIM (Nano) support, and it Amigo v4.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. On the inside, it sports a 6.0-inch Full HD display 1080×1920 pixels IPS display. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek MT6757T Helio P25 octa-core SoC clocked at up to 2.6GHz, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal memory, and microSD support (up to 256GB). The phone is backed by a 4550mAh battery, which should last two days on a single charge. Plus, it also features Ultrafast charging capability which gives users 2-hour talk time in just 300 seconds.

Of late, more mid-end smartphones are increasingly getting the dual-camera technology. Earlier this month, Huawei launched the Honor 8 Pro with a dual-camera setup. Priced at Rs 29,999, Honor 8 Pro features a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440, 515 ppi), Kirin 960 processor, 6GB RAM, 128 GB storage, and a 4000mAh battery. OnePlus 5 also features a dual-camera setup, a first for the company.
