Lenovo launched the third smartphone of its K8 series with Lenovo K8, after launching of Lenovo K8 Note and Lenovo K8 Plus. The Lenovo K8 is the lowest specced smartphone in the series and is priced at Rs. 10,499. The all-new Lenovo K8 was announced via Twitter. The smartphone will be an offline-exclusive and is now available to buy via retail stores. It will be available in Venom Black and Fine Gold colours.

Unlike the other two, K8 doesn’t come with dual cameras at the back. That is the only big differentiator which also brings down the price of the Lenovo K8, albeit very slightly. The phone sports a unibody design very similar to the new Lenovo K8 Plus — not all-metal like the K8 Note -but with plastic inserts at the top and bottom on the back. There is also a dedicated music key on the left.

Lenovo K8 Features

The dual-SIM smartphone supports both Nano-SIMs and comes with 4G VoLTE. Lenovo K8 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 processor clocked at 2.3GHz coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, expandable via microSD card. It features a 5.2-inch IPS HD 720×1280 pixels display with 2.5D glass on top, but it isn’t confirmed by the company if it is the same Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone sports a fingerprint scanner at the back, just beneath the single camera with an LED flash.

Out of the box, the K8 runs Android 7.1.1 OS with stock interface. Lenovo has forever abandoned its Vibe UI in favour of the much smoother stock interface. Both the K8 Plus and the K8 Note as well come with the same interface. Though, it is not clear if Lenovo will update the phone to Android 8.0 Oreo, like the other two.

At the back, device sports 13-megapixel single sensor with PDAF and LED flash. To compare, the K8 Note sports a 13-megapixel primary sensor along with a 5-megapixel depth sensor, which allows the smartphone to capture depth-of-field effects. The K8 also sports an 8-megapixel front camera with front flash.

The device packs a 4000mAh non-removable battery which the company claims can deliver up to 1.5 days of usage. It measures 147.9×73.7×8.5mm and weighs 165 grams. It comes with a single speaker that is powered by Dolby Atmos surround sound but misses out on Theater Max present on other two models. It has Gravity, Proximity, Light, E-compass and Gyro sensors onboard.
