Fitness Band Xiaomi Mi Band HRX Edition Launched with 23-Day Battery Life at ₹ 1,299

Chinese Electronics Giant Xiaomi on Friday launched the new fitness band Xiaomi Mi Band HRX Edition partnered with Hrithik Roshan. This new Mi Band edition is said to deliver up to 23-day battery backup and comes with an improved tracking algorithm and splash resistant capability. The newly announced HRX Edition of the Mi Band comes with a price tag of Rs 1,299.

The Mi Band HRX Edition comes in black color and will be available in both offline and online stores.  The Mi Band HRX Edition will be available from September 18 on Mi.com, and Mi Home offline stores. It will also be sold on Myntra, Flipkart, and Amazon starting September 20. Mi Band – HRX Edition will also be available for a preview sale at Curefit app and all Cult fitness centers between September 18 to September 20.

Xiaomi Mi Band HRX Edition is said to last more than 23 days on its battery thanks to the Bluetooth 4.0 chipset and 0.42 mm OLED display. It can monitor users’ steps, calories burnt and sleep patterns with the high-speed accelerometer, digital heart rate monitor and improved pedometer, as well as display notifications including those of incoming calls or text messages. The Xiaomi Mi Band HRX Edition comes with IP67 water resistance and an ADI sensor. Users having Android 5.0 or above can also unlock their phone, when kept close to the Mi Band – HRX Edition.

Mi Band – HRX Edition is basically an adaptation of Xiaomi’s Mi Band 2. Xiaomi claims that — Mi Band 2 is the world’s leading fitness wearable with 3.5 million units being sold globally in Q2, as per IDC. Xiaomi is the #1 wearable vendor worldwide with 13.4 percent as per IDC Q2 report.

Just to compare, the Mi Band 2 is rated to offer 20 days of battery life, and is priced at Rs. 1,999. The Mi Band HRX Edition looks similar to the Mi Band 2 with respect to design, except for the additional HRX logo now embedded on the strap.

It’s important to note that the HRX Edition does not have a heart rate monitor though – something the Mi Band It’soes. Xiaomi Vice President and India Managing Director Manu Jain told PTI, “Indians are becoming more fitness conscious and this category is at an extremely dynamic stage. The Xiaomi Mi Band HRX Edition is a great fit in the category as reflected by the great response received for the Mi Band 2. This is not an endorsement deal, it’s a partnership for a new device. Hrithik provided inputs on features can be incorporated to make the product more relevant.”
