After the Intex Aqua 4G Mini, the Indian smartphone company has flagged off its new ELYT series in the smartphone category. The Chinese brands have shifted their focus from low-cost to budget mid-range smartphones. On the other hand, the Indian smartphone brands are bringing the ultra-cheap smartphones as an alternative to features phones which still has a healthy market share. In the last few weeks, we have seen quite a few 4G VoLTE smartphones launching with a price tag lower than Rs. 5,000. The first smartphone to launch in the ELYT series is the Intex ELYT-e1 that supports 4G VoLTE and is priced at Rs. 6,999. The device will be available to buy at many retail stores across the country.
The Intex ELYT-e1 sports a brushed metal finish with a fingerprint sensor at the back, right underneath the square-shaped camera sensor. The smartphone houses the volume and power buttons on the right edge, while the front houses capacitive navigation buttons at the bottom chin.
As for the specifications, the Intex ELYT-e1 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and supports dual-SIM slots (Micro + Micro). The device comes with a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) Onecell IPS display with 294ppi pixel density. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 306 GPU. It offers 16GB of inbuilt storage with the option to expand further via microSD card slot (up to 128GB).
As for the camera, there is an 8-megapixel rear and selfie camera both with LED flash for better low light photo and video recording. The Intex ELYT-e1 packs a 2200mAh battery that claims to last up to 220 hours of standby time and 5.5 hours of talk time. Connectivity options apart from 4G VoLTE include 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, FM radio, and USB 2.0.
The Intex ELYT-e1 measures 142.4×71.5×8.7mm and weighs 145 grams. On board sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. The smartphone is only available in Champagne colour variant. Lastly, preloaded apps on the Intex ELYT-e1 include Intex My Wallet, LFTY, Game Play, Game Store, and Vdio Play.
