Kia Carens: Following its presentation of Carens as Purpose-Built Vehicles at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, Kia India proudly announced the delivery of 71 specially tailored Carens to the Punjab Police. These PBVs will serve as Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs), providing swift aid to citizens during critical situations. By venturing into the PBV domain, Kia aims to bridge the gap in India’s specialized institutional mobility needs.

71 Customised Kia Carens Delivered to Punjab Police

Kia Carens emerged as Punjab Police’s preferred mobility solution due to its cutting-edge technology, advanced connectivity features, spacious wheelbase, and enhanced comfort in the third row.

The customized Carens is equipped with a Smartstream 1.5 Petrol engine and a 6-speed Manual transmission. It boasts custom High-Intensity Strobe lights, PA Systems, and ‘Dial 112 – Emergency Response Vehicle’ Decals. Additionally, it features a robust 60Ah battery to power the added equipment. With its expansive wheelbase, Carens sets a new standard for practicality in police vehicles. Designed for convenience, the specially tailored Carens offers a 60:40 split in the second row, a 55:50 split in the third row, adjustable headrests for all rows, a 12V Power Socket, and 5 USB Type-C Ports, providing utmost flexibility to Punjab Police Officials. Like its standard counterparts, the PBV variant incorporates a High Strength Steel structure and cutting-edge technologies such as All Wheel Disc Brakes, ABS, Idle Stop & Go, and TPMS.

The police car and ambulance models based on the Carens were initially showcased at the 16th edition of the Auto Expo in 2023.
